Meet Alexander

A self-taught digital artist and photographer who proves that creativity can bloom anywhere. Born in North Dakota, I never stayed anywhere for long. The child of a NAVY veteran meant frequent relocations and unusual opportunities to reinvent myself while getting to see new lands. My current canvas is here in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve lived in Grants Pass, Oregon longer than anywhere (yet). And Southern Oregon does not disappoint when it comes to places to explore and interesting sights to be seen. While I hold a degree from the Oregon Institute of Technology, and have also been a social worker in various respects over the last 20 years, my real passion lies in creative artistry. What started as a passive hobby creating memes for fun actually became my training ground, teaching me the power of digital editing and evolving into a full-blown career in composite artistry, photography, videography, a real creative generalist.

Today, I create original pieces for a discerning audience, blending technical precision with wild imagination. My style is heavily influenced by the masters of the surreal, legends like Salvador Dalí, Ralph Steadman, and René Magritte, as well as modern visionaries like Igor Morski and local favorite Jasman Mander.

For me, photographic art is more than just creation; it is a way to process the world, finding beauty in what’s passing us by while we attempt to engage in our often bleak world. I draw on my own journey with mental health to expel the shadows, often finding that sweet spot where darkness meets humor. Whether I’m shooting a portrait or building a landscape composition, my work is a constantly evolving exploration of new mediums, always aiming to make the viewer look twice.
